This year USA Water Polo is implementing birth date verification for all USA Water Polo athletes participating in National Championship Events. This will be a ONE-TIME CHARGE of $5.00 paid online through TC logiQ Secure Website. Gold athlete members MUST complete this process prior to participating in any National Championship Event – in particular the Regional Junior Olympic Qualifier which is fast approaching. This process can take up to seven (7) days to receive results so we urge all athletes to complete the verification right away, to avoid delays as the qualifiers get closer. We encourage you to reach out to your club members as you will not be able to verify and submit your rosters until all athletes’ birth dates have been successfully verified in our system.
National Championship Events include:
- Regional Junior Olympic Qualifier
- National Junior Olympics
- TURBO Champions Cup (& qualifier)
- Rocktober PCA 12 & Under Classic (& qualifier)
- Masters Nationals
- US Opens of Water Polo

ALL ATHLETE MEMBERS (ex: silver, bronze, coach, etc.) are strongly encouraged to complete the birth date verification process at this time should they wish to participate as an athlete in a National event at a later date. 

NOTE: Once you have completed the birth date verification screening for USA Water Polo, there is no need to repeat this process again. This is separate from the coach and referee background screening. Coaches and referees who also wish to compete as an athlete in a National Championship will need to verify their birth date and will need to create aseparate login using the birth date verification link – they will not be able to login through their coach/referee background screening account.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Click Here to sign into your USA Water Polo membership account
2. Scroll down your account homepage and click on the blue “Birth Date Verification” button
3. You will be redirected to the TC logiQ secure web site (you may also click directly on the TC logiQ link provided)
4. Follow the directions provided on screen to validate your USAWP membership.
5. Once your membership has been validated, continue onscreen to create a TC logiQ account and verify your birth date.
6. You will receive an email when your birth date has successfully been verified – may take up to 7 days to process.

>> For families with more than one child…

You will have to complete the verification process for EACH child. A unique username is required, so we recommend the use of your USA Water Polo member ID as the username so you can create an account for each child. Keep in mind this process only needs to be completed once, you should not need to login again.

>> If you do not have computer/internet access…

If you do not have access to a computer or prefer to submit the verification form directly to USAWP Membership office, please complete the Birth Date Verification form found online & return with payment to:

There is an additional $5 processing fee for those that submit a paper application to USA Water Polo. There is no processing fee to apply online – please follow instructions above.

>> If you do not have a Social Security Number/Card…

Follow instruction steps listed above. When prompted for Social Security Number, please enter 000-00-000. After you have submitted your screening, you will need to faxTWO forms of identification* directly to TC logiQ customer service at (888) 823-0371.Please note: International members may also need an I-9 form. *The two acceptable forms of identification required must consist of one from List A and one from List B below: List A
A color copy of any government-issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s licenses, identification card), government-issued passport, OR current elementary, middle or high school ID card with photo (for those without a driver’s license or government-issued ID)

A copy of certification of birth abroad, certification of report of birth, U.S. birth certificate, Native American tribal document OR similar documents.

Conditioning practices for Splashball and Cubs on Mondays and Wednesdays from March 19th till April 4th will be from 7 pm to 8 pm at DeNunzio Pool. Please plan on picking up the kids accordingly.

Sunday, March 11  we will have BRING A FRIEND DAY for Middle School and Cubs players from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Bring your Pal and show him how much fun it is to play Water Polo! Here is the catch – is your friend signs up for the Summer Session full membership – you will get 50% discount for your summer session!!!

We are switching training sessions – HS and Masters will practice from 4 to 6:30 PM.

Princeton University Aquatics will be holding a Lifeguard Training Courses, Certification and Water Safety Courses in the Spring 2012 – see Flyer for dates and prices. Classes will run at Dillon Pool.

The Main Line League dates for Masters are set – schedule is available here. All competition will take place at either Villanova University or at one of participating teams’ pools and will normally take place between noon and 9:00 p.m.

Competition Dates (Some teams may play weeknight games,not every team will play every date):

January   22, 29
February   4, 11, 19, 26
March       4, 17 (A Championship), 18 (B Championship)
February 5th and 18th will serve as makeup dates in case of snow

Rules:

• Each game consists of two, 18-minute halves with running time until the last minute of each half.

• Teams will follow current NCAA Playing Rules with the following exceptions: Two minute half-time and teams change ends.

• Teams only receive one 30 second timeout per half. A game misconduct will include an additional game suspension.

• A flagrant misconduct (brutality) will include two additional game suspensions.

Our coaches have always insisted that we run the club on a low budget.
The water polo club has no aspirations to make money from the program,
and we want all our athletes to enjoy affordable access to this wonderful sport.

Dear Tiger Families,

As we start the new season, we want to reflect on our previous year, and share a few announcements regarding the coming year.

The club continues to grow. We were delighted to enter the largest number of teams for JO qualifiers that we have to date. We had mixed results at the championships, but there is no question that more Tiger athletes participated and learnt at this elite level than ever before. We were especially excited to take Tiger girls to JOs for the first time, after another successful showing at the National State Challenge where our girls narrowly lost in the championship game. We had attendance at training through the season, and particularly in the Spring, that was so strong that we often had more than one coach active on deck at any one time. We established the Splashball program, and added the Cubs training group to our overall efforts, and now have a very strong pipeline of young water polo enthusiasts.

In order to continue this tremendous progress, we need to further evolve our club. There are several big steps that we will make this year.

First, we need to expand our professional coaching staff. We have appointed Momo Ivetic to our coaching staff. He will be fully integrated into the club across all age groups. Momo brings an exceptional knowledge of the game, an infectious enthusiasm, and the dedication and discipline to help us take our skills to the next level. Many of you will already have met Momo. Please welcome him to the club – he will be an integral part of our future success. At the same time, we value our association with the Princeton University athletes that have come out to help with coaching duties. We will continue with this mutually rewarding program.

Second, in order to cope with the additional organizational tasks associated with running a club of this size, we will be turning increasingly to parent volunteers. We have a group of seasoned water polo parents who will be expanding their contributions as team parents, tournament directors, new family welcome committees and more. Please look out for opportunities to learn more about the game and to help out.

Finally, we face a difficult decision as we plan this quantum step. Derek and I have always insisted that we run the club on a low budget. We have no aspirations to make money from the program, and want all our athletes to enjoy affordable access to this wonderful sport. Our 2011/12 plans will expand our infrastructure and cost base. We’re sure that we will continue to expand the program, and as new membership expands our income we will grow into our new cost structure. But, using current income projections we will be a little short this year. We have reluctantly agreed to increase membership fees by a modest 7% this year. Together with an invitation for additional donations, we believe this will enable us to balance the books into the new era.

While the 2010/11 season was characterized by membership growth which will continue, we plan for 2011/12 to be marked by quality and infrastructure enhancements. With your help, we will see this playing out in both the smiles on our childrens’ faces and on the scoreboard.

Saturday 9/10 will be a fun practice and try-out day for all our new and returning Splashballers and Tiger Cubs. We will have plenty of help from older players so we can have a fun session in the water, coaches will be able to talk to parents on the deck.
